The 76th winner of the 1000 Guineas, held on Friday 3rd May 1889 over the Rowley Mile, was Minthe (4/1), a bay filly by Camballo out of Mint Sauce, owned by Mr Robert Vyner. The winner won by 1/2 a length in 1 minute 52 secs, with 10 lengths back to the third. A field of 14 runners contested the race which was worth £3,700 (Equivalent to £444,000 in 2017)
